Everything you need to know about the India Climate Collaborative.

The India Climate Collaborative (ICC), founded in 2020 by philanthropists and industry leaders, is a first-of-its-kind collaborative operating at the intersection of climate and philanthropy in India. Its vision is to build a low-carbon, resilient India for the benefit of its people and natural environment. It does this by unlocking philanthropic capital, identifying catalytic climate priorities, and creating a connective infrastructure for impactful funding.

The ICC is not a think tank. We are an ecosystem enabler dedicated to addressing climate change challenges in India. We work in partnership with a diverse array of stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, non-profits, academic institutions, think tanks, and other philanthropic organisations.

Yes, the ICC is registered as CPCA (Council of Philanthropies for Climate Action), under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013.

The ICC was founded in 2020 by some of India's pre-eminent corporate and philanthropic leaders, including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, Nadir Godrej, and others.

The CEO of the ICC is Shloka Nath. Shloka incubated the idea of the ICC while she was running the sustainability portfolio at the Tata Trusts.

Launched in July 2023, the ICC’s “Climate Solutions Platform”, Earth Exponential is a first-of-its-kind digital platform that displays high-impact, ready-to-fund climate projects. Earth Exponential sources and evaluates projects from reputed non-profits. These non-profits have typically spent years working closely with communities to design and implement climate projects with strong development co-benefits. Earth Exponential supports these non-profits in building concept notes and proposals, tailored, but not exclusive to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funders, and then connects funders to these non-profits while helping build capacity for the long-term.
Please visit Earth Exponential for more.

At the core of the ICC’s strategy lies collaboration - we firmly believe in the power of collective efforts. If you’d like to learn more about the organisations and individuals we work with, please check out our Community page.
