Pooling funds to achieve systemic climate action.

Pooled funds aggregate agendas, resources, and capital to support a variety of local climate actors, while tailored to India’s development and climate needs.

The ICC brings together new and existing climate funders and sectoral stakeholders to co-invest in critical climate priorities in India. We provide climate advisory and strategic insights to enable innovation, testing, and scaling up of local solutions. With timely and catalytic deployment of different types of capital, these pooled funds can address urgent gaps at scale and help grow India’s climate ecosystem.

We customise services for each fund, helping mission-based funders:

  • Collaborate with diverse actors – funders, implementing organisations, think tanks, and policy makers – around a singular climate priority
  • Break the traditional siloed programming, with a “systems change” approach that enables long-term and sustained impact
  • Minimise the administrative burden and investment risks associated with new thematic areas and solutions.

Key Funds

Harit Bharat Fund

The ICC is a strategic partner to this collaborative initiative, launched in September 2023, alongside WRI India, Sangam Ventures, Spectrum Impact, Pune Knowledge Cluster, and Transform Rural India. This is an ambitious effort to enable a locally-led land restoration economy in India.

Bharat Agroecology Fund

The ICC helped seed a pooled grant fund launched in August 2023, with several other donors, to mainstream and scale agroecology practices in India, towards non-chemical, non-extractive food systems.
